Buon Park has become a prominent figure in Edmonton’s musical landscape, joining the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in 2022. Her dedication and skill have greatly impressed local audiences. Her extensive musical background encompasses both orchestral and chamber music in Korea and Canada. In Korea, Buon was the second principal with the Seocho Philharmonic Orchestra and a guest principal with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally, she was an active chamber musician, performing with groups like the Nine Music Society and Anima Chamber Music Series. Her solo career began with a debut at age twelve with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. Buon’s education includes degrees from Yewon Art School, Seoul Art High School, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University. She was awarded first prize in prestigious competitions such as the KBS KEPCO Music Competition and Music Education News
Concours.
In Canada, Buon completed her Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School, studying with Barry Shiffman and Erika Raum, and was supported by scholarships from Steven Staryk and Isaac Mamott. She has been invited to the Montreal Chamber Music Festival and Music by the Sea. Her achievements also include
winning the GGS Chamber Music Competition and performing as a concertmaster in Richard Strauss’s “Ein Heldenleben” with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra at Koerner Hall, conducted by Bramwell Tovey.Through her insightful performances and deep musical knowledge, Buon Park continues to enhance the cultural richness of Edmonton, affirming its reputation as a hub of musical excellence.
A concert violinist, community volunteer, and music educator, Anita Walsh joined the
Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s First Violins in 2022. Anita’s passionate pursuit of great orchestral and chamber music collaborations has taken her across Canada, performing concerts with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and as Principal Second Violinist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Winnipeg Symphony, and Orchestra London. In summer months, Anita has enjoyed engagements with Festival of the Sound, Stratford Summer Music, Festival Vancouver, Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Scotia Festival of Music, and Ottawa Chamberfest. She appears as both Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin of the Elora Festival Orchestra.
During the pandemic, a keen interest in community wellbeing led Anita to establish music programming partnerships with the Kitchener Public Library and KW Symphony. With the support of generous grants from the Metcalf Foundation in Toronto and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, she developed a framework for delivering music-led Social Prescribing Initiatives at the Symphony. She also produced a series of live recorded children’s concerts that reached a broad online audience, as far away as Zurich. Most recently, Anita has enjoyed volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Society and has previously worked with the Canadian Mental Health Association. She is eager to get to know her new community in Edmonton!
Clayton Leung has immersed himself in the Edmonton arts scene; making appearances at the Alberta Baroque Society, C’mon Festival, Early Music Alberta, Edmonton Chamber Music
Society, Edmonton Recital Society, Candlelight concerts, with the Chamber Orchestra of
Edmonton, and has performed nationally and internationally with Kent Sangster's jazz
ensemble, Obsessions Octet. Additionally, Clayton is a proud member of the Health Arts
Society of Alberta and teaches at the MacEwan Conservatory.
Clayton joined the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in 2013 and has occasionally appeared as a soloist, performing Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, Bruch’s Romance and Peteris Vasks viola concerto.

Before moving to Edmonton, Clayton was the principal violist with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and violist of the Atlantic String Quartet and regularly performed with
the Victoria and Vancouver Island Symphonies. A native of Fort Langley BC, he began violin lessons at the Langley Community Music School. He continued his studies at the University of Victoria, and then pursued the viola at the University of Minnesota and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Meran Currie-Roberts has a successful career across Canada as a cellist, teacher and arts administrator. Originally from Victoria, Meran studied with James Hunter at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and with Shauna Rolston at the University of Toronto, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music. Before joining the Edmonton Symphony in 2018, she frequently appeared with the Calgary Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Thunder Bay Symphony, Windsor Symphony, and Colorado Music Festival orchestras.
As a chamber musician, Meran has played for the Edmonton Recital Society, Festival of the Sound, Elora Festival, Festival Ibero Americano, Music at Port

Milford, Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kincardine Festival and Festival Vancouver. She made her solo debut with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in 2020, playing Jocelyn Morlock’s Solace. She is also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Edmonton.
In addition to performing, Meran was formerly Dean of the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts and is currently Executive & Artistic Director of the Health Arts Society of Alberta, a registered charity that brings professional concerts featuring local artists to Albertans living in care facilities across the province. HASA reaches over 10,000 annually with in-person concerts.
